Shipping and Delivery Options
A: Shipping by Airlines
Shipping is available to all U.S. destinations and Canada. The cost varies depending on the location and includes airfare, the puppy’s shipping crate (pet taxi), a vet health certificate, and a puppy care packet. Delivery is typically counter-to-counter service, with puppies traveling in a pressurized compartment that’s temperature-controlled. The cost of shipping by airlines ranges from $150.00 to $200.00, depending on the destination and the airlines.
B: Shipping by Specialized Ground Service
We also offer the option of having your puppy delivered by van right to your doorstep using a Pet Transport service that delivers to all destinations in the continental U.S. The cost for this service varies based on distance and location.
Safety and Comfort During Shipping
Is Shipping Safe for the Puppy?
Shipping a puppy by itself to a new location may raise concerns, but rest assured, our years of shipping experience have shown that all of our pups are well taken care of. We take meticulous care to ensure their comfort and well-being during transit, including providing food, frozen water, and comforting items in their crate. Puppies are shipped in a pressurized compartment with temperature regulation, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
Shipping in Winter
We guarantee that puppies can be shipped safely between 20 and 85 degrees, in accordance with airline rules. During winter, puppies ride in the belly of the plane where the temperature is maintained at a comfortable 70 degrees, ensuring their safety and well-being during transit.
Can I Travel to Pick Up My Puppy?
Yes, you are always welcome to travel to pick up your puppy after purchase. Some airlines may require an additional fee for flying with a puppy, so it’s advisable to check with the specific airline regarding their policies.
Care Upon Arrival
Vaccination and Vet Check-Up
Your new puppy is up to date on shots before leaving our home and will not need a vaccine for at least two weeks after arrival. We recommend scheduling a vet check-up within 48 hours of receiving your puppy for a general check-up and to address any health concerns.
Vetting Recommendations
For vet services, we recommend small-town vets for their personalized care and cost-effectiveness. We advise against using Banfield Hospitals or VCA Hospitals, as we have observed misdiagnoses, overmedication, and excessively high vet bills associated with these clinics.
We hope these details provide you with the assurance and information you need to make the best decision for your new furry family member. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
